As a society, we tend to think of healthcare as the first and last stop when it comes to keeping people healthy. In reality, health and wellbeing begin much earlier than a healthcare provider’s office. Housing, food, employment, transportation, education, and a host of other societal factors all play an extremely important role. Yet, healthcare providers typically have little impact in those areas. This article not only illustrates the critical need for partnerships among healthcare providers and community-based organizations in improving population health, but, in our mind, highlights the importance of using convenors to bring together all stakeholders. https://trustees.aha.org/building-hospital-community-partnerships
